Senior Vice Commandant Clint Read

.

My name is Clint Read. I served in the United States Marine Corps from 1994-1998 as a Landing Support Specialist. I had the joined the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit for 2 deployments with Shore Party Platoon, where I had the pleasure of partaking in several operations and training ops. I had learned of the Marine Corps League several years after my end of active service, but had not heard the whole message. I had the misconception that a family man would not have enough time for such a commitment. I could not have been more wrong, and now wish I had started many years ago. Our League welcomes you and requires only what you are able to give, with a "Family First" ethos. After my lovely wife pushed for me to attend my first meeting (understanding I had a void from the lack of brotherhood the civilian world has to offer), I was welcomed with open arms. It immediately became apparent what I was and had been missing! Another great opportunity is that my kiddos are able to build a sense of work ethic through our Detachment's volunteer efforts as well, giving back to their community! So glad I joined!

(Note from the Commandant: Mr. Read works for the betterment of others proffesionally and with the League. You won't find someone who works harder for the local community than him. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside him, as well as share a passion for Indian Motorcycles also. See you on the road Read.)
